Confederate Bayonet commonly called the Tredagar Bayonet. This is incorrect for this style bayonet was made at the Richmond arsenal. I may be wrong but I don’t believe that Tredagar made any bayonets. This bayonet resembles figure B-121 in RM Reilly’s book, American Socket Bayonets and Scabbards. It is marked H.R.-16 and was recovered at Hatcher’s Run, VA. The approx. dimensions are as follows, Socket 2’ 15/16”, Boor .773”which is the size for a .58 Cal. Musket, Overall length 16”, Blade Width 19/32”. Almost a must for any top of the line collection.
