Enfield Scabbard With A Confederate Made Frog – The Frog Is Very Similar To One Which Appeared In The Horse Soldiers Catalog #28) Years Ago – On The Reverse Of The Frog, It Is Id’d To “A. Gray Co. K 21 Miss” – Please Note Photos Which Show Lead Buck Shot Or Bucks From Buck And Ball Imbedded Into The Leather – Private Gray Was Wounded At The Wilderness On May 6^th 1864 – He Died Of His Wounds On May 11^th 1864 At The General Hospital At Parker’s Store – His Records Show That He Was Originally Captured May 3^rd 1863 And Then Sent To Prison – He Was Paroled At Fort Delaware And Sent To City Point For Exchange On May 23^rd 1863 – He Was One Of 1141 Men Paroled – He Would, As They Would Do During The War, Return To His Regiment, The 21^st Miss. – His Records Accompany This Piece – It Should Be Said That His Records Are Incorrect In The Beginning Showing That He Died Outright In Combat, For Later His Records Show He Died At Parker’s Store From His Wounds – This Scabbard Has Been In My Personal Collection For Many Years And Purchased From A Very Large Collection From A Gentleman From Hersey Pennsylvania, Since Deceased
