It is the consensus of opinion, that both collided prior to entering a tree. Four
particles of wood lye in the cavity of one. Found in the Beaver Dam creek in 1977.

.58 Cal. Explosive U.S. Gardiner Recovered at Gettysburg I purchased from the
Shields Museum Auction on November 16th 1985, lot #318. Records show it was found
by a Mr. H. Smiley many years ago in the peach orchard. (Not for sale)
