Veterinary Fleam with horn handle and three blades – Marked  I X L George Wostenholm Celebrated – Overall good condition with initial “W” on opposite side as pictured unless you want to make it an “M” – Often used as scarificators to let blood during the Civil War – George Wostenholm was famed for his cutting blades that were manufactured at the Washington works – The classic trade mark IXL appears on the Civil War era belt knife carried by both North and South

“Eye” surgical kit – Handles made of ivory and in a wood box with slider lid – Stamps and address in upper left corner – This originally was in my personal collection and the address is that of a hospital in the Alexandria Virginia area but can not remember what the first name is – Very nice set – Instruments are not marked – The blades are very small in most cases and I have been told that this is SOP for surgical kits – Dimensions 6 5/16” X 2 Ό” X Ύ”
